Ammar Daba, lid van de Anna Lindh Foundation en ervaren stand-upcomedian, scenarioschrijver en acteur, heeft onlangs een nieuw Arabisch comedycollectief gelanceerd onder de naam Standout. Sinds de oprichting in september heeft Standout al een sterke start gemaakt met diverse shows in Amsterdam en Eindhoven. Vorige maand organiseerde het collectief zijn eerste comedyworkshop, waaruit zeven nieuwe comedians zijn afgestudeerd. Deze talenten zijn nu vaste leden van het team en treden regelmatig op.
Daba begon zijn artistieke carrière in 2002 met de tv-serie Bread and Salt en heeft sindsdien internationale bekendheid verworven. Hij stond op grote podia zoals Comedy Central en OSN, waar hij in 2019 ook een eigen comedy-special had. Tegenwoordig treedt hij op in heel Europa, geeft hij les in stand-upcomedy en schrijft hij scripts voor televisie en film.

Ammar Daba Launches New Arab Comedy Collective “Standout” in the Netherlands
Ammar Daba, a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation and an experienced stand-up comedian, screenwriter, and actor, has recently launched a new Arab comedy collective called Standout. Through this initiative, he aims to put Arabic-language comedy on the map in the Netherlands and provide a platform for both established and emerging comedians.
Since its founding in September, Standout has made a strong start with several shows in Amsterdam and Eindhoven. Last month, the collective organised its first comedy workshop, from which seven new comedians graduated. These talents are now permanent members of the team and perform regularly.
Daba began his artistic career in 2002 with the television series Bread and Salt and has since gained international recognition. He has performed on major platforms such as Comedy Central and OSN, where he also had his own comedy special in 2019.
